Getting to and from El Nido

El Nido is not easy to reach, and that is most of what shapes a Palawan itinerary. Four routes matter. Here is what each one publishes, and where the published information does not agree with itself.

Where a fare reads "from", the operator published a starting price rather than a fare — treat it as a floor. Collected 26 August 2026.

Do not book a connection against a schedule on this site

The two sources for the El Nido → Coron ferry directly contradict each other about which direction sails in the morning, and neither is the shipping line. Both claims are published side by side rather than resolved, because resolving them would mean guessing. See the conflict.

Road (shared van, private van, bus)

Puerto Princesa (PPS) → El Nido

The budget standard. Fly into Puerto Princesa, then cross the spine of Palawan by road.

Air

Manila (MNL) → Puerto Princesa (PPS)

The cheap way into Palawan, flown by several carriers, then five to six hours by road to El Nido.

Air, direct

Manila (MNL) → El Nido (ENI, Lio Airport)

The direct flight into Lio Airport just north of town. Faster than the Puerto Princesa route, and priced accordingly.

Sea (fast craft)

El Nido → Coron (Busuanga)

The ferry across to Coron, and the reason most Palawan itineraries can run one way instead of doubling back.

Why airfares are not indexed

Two of these routes are flights, and neither carries a real fare here. Airline pricing changes several times a day; a dated index of an hourly number would be worse than no index at all, so flights show only what an operator published as a starting price, clearly marked. That exclusion is deliberate and it is stated on the methodology page rather than left for a reader to discover.
