Who writes it

El Nido Digital is written from El Nido, Palawan. That is the only genuine advantage it has over the enormous volume of El Nido content produced by people who have never been here — and it is why the rules on this site are strict about invention. A made-up number would trade away the one thing that cannot be outsourced.

How the data is collected

Prices are read from the public rate cards of named operators, ticket sellers and official sources, on a stated date, and stored with that date attached. Nothing is averaged, estimated, or carried over from a previous collection without being re-read. Blogs and AI-generated travel articles are not eligible as sources at any tier — a rule enforced by the build script rather than by good intentions.

The current collection is dated 26 August 2026. The method in full, including what it does not cover.

Corrections

Corrections are the most valuable thing this site can receive, especially from people who are in El Nido now. A fee that changed, a boat that stopped running, a landing charge nobody publishes — those close real gaps. Every page carries a list of what it has not verified; if you can close one, it goes in with the date it was checked and the fact that it was verified in person.

How it pays for itself

Some links to booking platforms earn a commission if you book through them, at no extra cost to you. That arrangement has no influence on what appears here: operators are indexed because they publish a rate card that can be cited, not because of any commercial relationship, and no operator pays for placement or for a position in the Price Index. Where a commercial link exists, it does not change what a price says.
