The tiers
- official — The municipality, tourism office or an ordinance text.
- operator — The business that runs the boat, van or vessel, quoting its own rate card.
- reseller — A ticket agent selling someone else’s service. Usable, but marked.
- field — Verified in person in El Nido.
Not eligible at any tier: travel blogs, listicles, AI-generated round-ups, and any page that does not say when its information was collected. Most of what ranks for El Nido falls into that category, which is the reason this site exists.
Sources we tried and could not use
- The Municipality of El Nido (elnido.gov.ph) — the primary source for the ETDF and its ordinance. Behind a Cloudflare rule that refused every request from this connection. This is the most important missing source on the site and the ordinance number is withheld until it is read.
- The large tour marketplaces — serve a CAPTCHA rather than a page. Their listing prices are not indexed, and we are not going to work around it to get them.
- Montenegro Shipping Lines' own site — did not respond. The ferry fare therefore comes from a reseller and is marked as such.
- Booking platforms — nightly rates are dynamic and excluded by design, not by difficulty.
