The number most of the internet still gets wrong
The ETDF was ₱200 for years. Increased from PHP 200 to PHP 400 by municipal ordinance in 2024, effective 1 June 2024. Search for "El Nido eco tourism fee" today and a large share of what ranks — including pages updated this year — still prints ₱200. Both operators indexed on this site charge ₱400 El Nido Tours2026-08-26 Discover El Nido2026-08-26.
If your budget came from an undated article, add ₱200 per person before you land.
How it works
- Who pays — every visitor joining any tour.
- Validity — 10 days, covers all island-hopping tours during that period, so it lands once, on your first tour day, not on every tour.
- On top of — your tour price, the lagoon entrance fees, and kayak rental. None of those include it.
Why we do not print the ordinance number. Two independent operators both publish PHP 400 and both cite a 2024 ordinance, but secondary write-ups disagree on the ordinance number (No. 01 vs No. 20, Series of 2024). The municipality's own site (elnido.gov.ph) is behind Cloudflare and refused every request from this machine's connection. The ordinance number is NOT confirmed here and is printed as unknown until read from the source document.
What we have not verified
- The exact ordinance number and its text. The municipality’s site refused every request from this connection; the figure above is corroborated across independent operators instead.
- Whether exemptions exist (residents, children, seniors). No source collected states any.
Known unknowns are listed rather than filled in. If you can confirm one of these first-hand, tell us and it gets added with the date it was checked.
